FDW have been very interested in the Maths Investigation for Term 4. We collected data using a survey , our question was ‘what is your favourite toy?’ The choices to vote on were: animals, sport, Lego, car or robot toys. We surveyed grade 1 and 2 and tallied the results. We then got Miss W to help us arrange the data into a column graph to show the most and least popular toys in Prep, 1 and 2

Term 4 is FLYING!
Foundation have been so busy already in Term 4… they LOVED our excursion to the Koorie Heritage Trust and NGV Australia
At the Koorie Heritage Trust we met a very interesting man called Stephen.
Inside the NGV Australia the students saw some contemporary Australian Aboriginal art making on a video and the paintings on the wall.
Water in the Weather
In our discussions about water, FDW have also talked about the connections between water and the weather.
Our class went outside to practise being weather scientists, using the skill of observation to notice the weather in the outside environment.
We then recorded our observations and wrote questions into our Science journals about the weather.
We looked at the weather report and noticed the different kinds of pictures and words to describe weather.
We wondered how the different seasons are connected to weather and how humans have to wear different clothes to survive different weather conditions.

Term 2 Show and Tell
This term, I will post the topic for the week on our classroom notice space (the glass entry door) though here is a list of weekly topics beginning from week 3.
The days for each student remain constant across the year.
This is really a way to help you guide their discussion ideas if you wish, they can always make a free choice if they have something special they wish to share instead of the topic.
Week 3 a favourite game you like to play
Week 4 something to do with water
Week 5 about a special celebration
Week 6 a favourite book
Week 7 something beginning with the first letter of your name
Week 8 something you like to eat
Week 9 something new you have learnt this term
